What is Turnip Trumpet?

It’s a turnip playing a trumpet.

Or a plant making loud noise.

Or a stubborn vegetable that brings everyone together drawing attention to something important.

But what are you making noise about?

All sorts of stuff. Identity, belonging, migration, micro cultures, oppression, surrealist experiences, childfree motherhood, sex, attraction, dancing. You know, life stuff.

Why don’t you just have a normal name?

It’s 2025. That kind of prejudice doesn’t belong here.

And also I like the mystique. I’ve used a bunch of aliases for various creative projects. I might bring them all together. Or I might not.

Are you anything to do with the person whose name fits into your name?

Absolutely not. I am a 40-something migrant woman who lives in England, UK. The name thing is just really bad timing.
